~FINAL POST~

This is my final post for the 1st semester of the school year. Pretty soon I am going to be in Speech class, which I am dreading, instead of computers. I have to say that this has been pretty good. There were a few hard times, like getting used to the MACs, but overall I have really liked it. Most of the projects are fun and I am really looking forward to our Final project. What we are doing is making like a movie about the year we were born and growing up. I can't wait to add the pictures of me and my friends. Also, I am going to add music, but I am not sure what. I have already learned many things that occured in the year 1993. I had no clue that the World Trade Centers were bombed by Muslim fundamentalists. Anyway, I really liked this class and I will miss the time to relax a little bit.

~WINTER~

There are many feelings I have about the season winter. For the most part I love it, but there are also some downsides to it as well. I love the winter because of the snow and the upcoming holidays. Some of my favorite memories happen to be playing in the snow or opening christmas presents on Christmas morning. The most prominent memory i have about winter is when my older brother and I made a snow fort, in which my dog would not leave. We practically had to drag him out of the fort. Also, we played catch with my dog, who loved chasing the snowballs we threw. My favorite christmas was the one where we went to Colorado. That Christmas break we stayed in Breckenridge, Colorado and went skiing. I was pretty young, about in Kindergarten, but yet this memory is crystal clear. To the left is a picture of the town of Breckenridge. These are a few of my favorite memories from my childhood. Although the snow can be fun to play in, there is a part of winter that I dislike. This part includes the cold weather and getting sick. I hate the cold weather and only perfer the snow that lasts a few days and affects our school schedules. Theses are a few of my thoughts on the upcoming season of winter.

I am not really sure if this is the picture of Our Town, but it sounded quite similar. hey Ana hope you are feeling better and can go to the play with us. Has Meredith told you the whole ordeal with the tickets yet? Well anyway, hope to see soon and hope you are feeling better.

Newscast Project

My group did not really have too many problems with the Newscast Project. I was in a group with Ana and Sophia H. Well anyway, the topic was not too hard for us to pick. We chose to interview my friend on the skills of horsemanship (she has a lot of experience with this since sh has her own horse). The only little problems we had were getting the background we wanted for the interview and fitting all three of us in front of the camera. Once we had recorded it to our satifaction we then had to save it. NOOOOO, the bell rang and we had to go to our next class, so we told Mrs. Brown and she was going to try to figure out how to save it. The next day we logged onto our computers and luckily it was still there. The next day the teacher showed our recording to the class since we were the first to complete the project. This was my experience with the Newscast project. Mrs. Brown i commented on Maggie's blog and Ana's blog!!!!

What I am Thankful For

There are many things in my life. It is very hard to narrow it down to just three. As one thing, I would have to say all the necessities, including, clean water, food, shelter, and clothes. I can't imagine having to worry from day to day about what I was going to eat or wether I would be warm enough during the winter. Without these it would be a very hard life. I am also thankful for the people around me. My family and friends support me in my dreams of becoming a pediatric surgeon. They also help me with the daily problems we all deal with. Not only am I thankful for the people around me, but also for my education. I realize that how priveleged I am being able to go to a private high school. I know my parents sacrafice a lot for me to go here and I appreciate that. Okay, I can't narrow this down to three. Early this past summer, I had a run in with the ER. Since then I have realized how many people in this world do not have good health. This has made me show more gratitude for the health that I have and that I am not sick. All these things in my life I am very thankful for.

Invention

There are many inventions that have impacted the world and there are many more to come. My invention will most likely deal with the medical industry and surgery, considering that I plan to be a pediatric surgeon. Even though I am not sure what this tool would look like, I have an idea about what it would do. After thinking about this for a long time, I have decided to invent a tool used in diagnosing patients. This tool would make the process quicker and less painful for the patient. Mrs. Brown I am commenting on Mo's, Ana's, and Maggie'sblog!!!!!

Political Cartoon

This political cartoon is basically saying that all George Bush has done is cause problems. I chose this cartoon because I believe that he has caused a few problems. I am indifferent when it comes to parties, but I do believe that this cartoon is true. I am not against Bush in anyway and I am not trying to offend someone by my cartoon!!!!

This is an inspirational picture to me for many different reasons. One is that I cannot imagine having a disabiltity and being wheelchair bound the rest of my life. I would not have the strength to live like that. The bubble is this picture are symbolic of letting go of the past. Another reason this is inspirational to me is because great uncle had a disability. He had down sydrome and basically depended on my great grandparents for everything. I never got to meet him because he drowned in a pool and died. This occured in his late 20s to early 30s. this picture is inspirational to me in many different ways and the subject has touched me throughout my life.

My Experience with the Scart Movie Podcast

Although I had some troubles, it all worked out in the end. At first I had a hard time picking out the movie I was going to do. This was because I am not a scary movie fan and they can really freak me out. Once I picked a movie I wasn't sure if my script was long enough and how long it had to be to get a minute of talking in. Mikey Unes helped Ana and I with the actual podcast. Once I understood what I was doing, it was pretty easy. This was my experience with the scary movie podcast. Mrs. Brown I have commented on Ana's, Maggie's, and Marissa's blog!

Scream Horror Movie Video

The Event that Changed My Life

This past summer I had to have surgery. It was a normal day when all of a sudden I had tremendous abdominal pain. My mom took me to the doctor and he sent me to the hospital for some tests. Not knowing that I was going to be rushed in to emergency surgery a few hours later, I was pretty casual and just wanted to go home. When I went into the OR I was relaxed and just wanted the pain to go away. After the surgery I was in recovery and asked for my mom. The nurse told me that I could not see my mom, but soon they would be taking me to my room. Within two weeks I could walk and school had started again. This experience has changed my life in many ways. I now look at life in a different way and do not rtake the simple things in life for granted. the simple fact of being pain-free or having good health is taken granted by too many people. Also, I have now decided that I am going to be a pediatric surgeon. These are just a few ways a night in the hospital has impacted my life. Mrs. Brown I am going to comment on Maggie Mercer's blog and Ana's blog!!!

Peoria Logo

Tonight I went to the Peoria logo website and looked at all the diffrent designs that were possible. For me it was a hard choice, but after a while I finally chose my top three picks. My first pick was the one that had the picture of the city with the Illinois river in front and the sun comming up behind it. Under the picture it said City of Peoria. My second choice had the outline of the city and under that it had the City of Peoria in a rust color. The logo with the green, yellow, and blue wave design was my third choice. I liked how it looked simple, but interesting!!! These were my top three choices for the new logo of Peoria.

Halloween Costume

I don't really know what my favorite halloween costume is. I have been anything from a modern day witch to a cheerleader. In our modern day which costume we had mismatching clothes and instead of brooms we had swifers. This costume was really fun. This year a group of my friends are going to be the spice girls. I don't really know what I am going to be for Halloween. I will think about it and will post it on my blog when I figure it out!!!!! Mrs. Brown I am going topost on Ana's blog!!!

iPhoto Project

Our newest project is to make an abulm in iPhoto along with music. in this album has to be pictures of objects that rpresent the letters in our name. For example, i have the letter E in my name and to represent this I am using the line on a few bricks. I like the idea of this project, although i am having a hard time a finding photos that look like the letters in my name. I think I am going to need more time to complete this project. I am not sure what i am going to do for the letter S or the letter A. Wish me luck in trying to find these because our project is due on hursday of this week. OMG! I think I just thought of what I am going to use for the letter A, but I am not going to tell you.
(Hey Mrs. brown i have already commented on Ana's blog.)

Homecoming Newsletter

For our homecoming newsletter we have three pages. The first page has the homecoming dance article on it. The second page has the articles about twin day and the Notre Dame spirit day. Along with these two articles we have a picture of Mo Smith and taylor Vukov as twins. On the third page is the article of the game. Whooohoooo, we won!!! A collage pictures of the homecoming dance are also on the third page. This is a short summary of the newsletter we are working on in Technology class. Mrs. Brown I am going to comment on Ana's blog.

Physical Developement

I feel as though I am physically ok and don't need to work at that hard. I plan to work out 3 days a week, the nights I don't have something else going. I run about two times a week for about a mile. Also, I do yoga, thanks to my friend Ana for introducing it to me, and sometimes I do ab workouts. Even though I am small, I believe that I have the same capacity as anyone else. This is what i think about my physical health.

Homecoming Newsletter

For the homecoming Newsletter, I am working with Sophia Hilbert and Ana Cruz. I am doing the spirit day, Ana is doing the twin day, and Sophia is doing the homecoming game. Together, we are all going to do the dance. I think that it will be hard to get 100 words out of the twin day and spirit day articles. I have found that it is hard to talk about spirit day because I don't know if I am going to be able to make 100 words out of describing people's outfits. The dance is going to be our main topic because it is the most well-known part of homecoming. These are a few of my thoughts on the homecoming newsletter project.

Mrs. Brown I am going to comment on Ana Cruz this week!!!

My Intellectual Nurturing

There are many ways that I believe that I can do tonurture my self in an intellectual way. First off, I would like to get get good grades this year. Also, I would like to do better all around, not just in my strong subjects. To accomplish these goals, I am going to study for all my tests. Not only will I study, but I will make sure that all my homework gets in to the teacher on time and so I won't have late papers. With these few little things, I believe that I can bring my grades up and nurture myself in an intellectual way.

My Emotional State

For the most part I think that my emotional state is okay, but it could use a little work. I think I should have a journal to write down all my feelings so I have a vent. it is important to vent otherwise I have no way of getting my frustrations out. My emotions occasionally get out of control. I usually get angry, frustrated, or upset with myself because I didn't handle something the correct way or I just don't know what to do about something. Other than these few little problems I believe that my emotional state is in line.

This week in our technology class we are working on a report of a saint. I chose St. Ann for the reason that ann is a family nmae and that she is the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I have chosen to do a powerpoint on her. Later, we are going to present our saints to the class. So far I am almost done with all of my six informational slides. Also, the URL slide is done and I am in he process of making the title slide. at this point in time I am doing the background colors, the font, the transitions and the font colors. Many of these things I have done at school, but I have also worked on this project at home. I am really happy at how this project is going!!!!

Goal on Spiritual Development

I plan to nurture my spirtual development through listening to my religion teacher and following the examples that I see and hear about in the bible. Also, I would pray often and go to mass as often as possible. Not only would I do all these things, but I think it might also be helpful to have a journal to be organized and to write down my feelings. I think all of these might help me to reach my goal of furthering my spiritual development.

Computer Class

In our technology class, we are now working on a storyboard. This application is like powerpoint on a Mac. What you do is pick a song, then type the lyrics onto the slides. Then find pictures to symbolize the words. Later on we will go into iMovie and we will make a movie. We will add transitions and audio so that the pictures, words, and the audio will all go at the same time. I hope I am going to complete this project by the September, which is when it is due.

Welcome!! I have created this blog for my high school technology class to learn about online communities. So far I think that this class has been challenging. We recently purchased Macs and so it takes a little bit of time to adjust. The class seems to be going a bit to fast. I feel that I am having trouble keeping up on all the assignments. I hope the class gets easier as I learn to navigate around a Mac.
